The SC on Thursday rejected its plea seeking the review of its earlier order granting bail to the former finance minister and congress leader P. Chidambaram. On 22nd October last year, the SC granted him bail on the case after reviewing all his alleged charges according to the provisions under Prevention of Corruption Act. After 104 days of custody on December 4 the apex court of the country granted him bail. A case registered against Chidambaram on May 15 2017 and he was arrested by CBI on August 21 2019 on corruption case.
He got 15 days custody under CBI and 53 days judicial custody and the SC granted him bail in the case registered by CBI on October 23.
