Supreme Court asked CBSE to announce compartment exam result early

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) 10th and 12th class compartment examinations have started from 22 September.

The Supreme Court has asked the CBSE Board to declare the results of the compartment exam at the earliest and also directed to coordinate with the UGC. The Supreme Court has said that it should be certified that students who pass the compartment exam get admission in colleges in the current academic year.

The Apex Court also said that this is not a usual time and in such a situation, CBSE and UGC will have to work in cooperation with the students. The Court said that it is a matter of the career of two lakh students and it is not a small number. The court has asked both CBSE as well as UGC to talk among themselves and apprise the court by September 24.

On the other hand, UGC has said that the last time for cut off for admission in colleges is till the end of October and if CBSE declares the result of compartment examination before that date, then students will be able to take admission in colleges.

At the same time, CBSE says that it will take three to four weeks to declare the result. Approximately two lakh students are appearing in the examination starting from today and these examinations will run till 29 September.

Thereafter, some students have also filed a petition in the Supreme Court to extend the date of admission in colleges.
