No need to appear in gowns, coats, sherwanis; Dress in a sober and dignified manner: Delhi High Court tells Advocates

The Delhi High Court has clarified that while appearing before it or before its subordinate Courts through video conferencing or otherwise, Advocates are exempted from wearing gowns, coats, sherwanis, achkans, chapkans and jackets.

The Advocates shall be “dressed in a sober and dignified manner” and expected to adhere to the rest of the dress code, as prescribed in Part VI, Chapter IV of the Bar Council of India Rules, it is stated.
