The cabinet on Wednesday approved an ordinance to amend the Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 to provide stricter punishment for attacks against health workers. The amendment was approved in view of reports of attacks & harrashments against Doctors, Nurses, Asha workers, Said union minister for information and broadcasting.
