SC enunciated, if the private hospitals could receive land at Penny expenses then why can’t they provide treatment either free or at nominal expenses:-

SC on Wednesday directed the central government to locate those private hospitals, where COVID-19 patients are treated at the free or at nominal rates.

The court opined that if those private hospitals who have obtained their land either free or at penny expenses, then why can’t those hospitals provide treatment at nominal expenses or free?

The bench of Chief Justice of India S. A. Bobde, Justice Hrishikesh Roy and Justice A. S. Bopanna heard the petition of Advocate Sachin Jain which discussed about rules related to expenses incurred while treatment in private and corporate hospital should be stationed. The court asserted for the opinion of the government related to the present matter and provided time for a reply.

The petition presented by Advocate Sachin Jain constituted accusations in relation of abstaining excessively large amount of bills from the patients alluding the reference of news reports.

Furthermore it contained as, “The country was fighting with such a disastrous pandemic, then the private hospitals who were performing it’s functions over public property and are constituted under the heads of charitable trusts, they should be directed to treat the patients without any charges or at nominal expenses.

The petition comprised finally that the number of other private hospitals should be superintended by the government which should be solicited at “Fixed cost methods” and be regulated.
