Bombay High Court to hear BMC’s reply to Kangana Ranaut’s plea challenging demolition of her office today

The Bombay High Court will on Thursday hear Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation‘s (BMC) reply to Kangana Ranaut’s plea challenging the demolition of her office. The hearing is scheduled for 3 pm today. Kangana had argued that the BMC’s action was illegal, arbitrary and malicious.

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday directed the Mumbai Civic Body to stop the demolition action of film actress Kangana Ranaut’s compression officers. The court has asked the Brihanmudra Municipal Corporation (BMC) to file an affidavit. Actress Kangana Ranaut approached the Bombay High Court challenging the BMC’s notice issued by the Mumbai Civic Body regarding ‘illegal construction’ in her bungalow and she has sought a stay on demolition proceedings in her property.

Kangana Ranaut’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui told, we filed a petition this morning demanding immediate hearing. We have sought a stay on the sabotage process through interim relief. The BMC on Wednesday demolished the “illegal alteration” in Kanga Ranaut’s Bandra bungalow, a Civic official.

The actress alleged that the Maharashtra government was targeting her due to her differences with the Shiv Sena. The BMC on Tuesday pasted a stop-work notice at the actor’s bungalow at Pali Hill in suburban Bandra. The Civic Body claimed that during routine inspection it was found that many illegal constructions and alterations have been made without the necessary permission from the Civic Body.

The BMC also filed a caveat in a local court on Tuesday, stating that if Kangana challenged the stop-work notice issued to him, the BMC should be heard first.

The Caveat court is requested not to pass any order without hearing the party who filed it.
