About The University

Jamia Millia Islamia is a Central University in India’s Capital city New Delhi and has a history of over 100 years.  By a Special Act of the Parliament, Jamia Millia Islamia was made a central university of India in December 1988. The Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia was established in 1989.

College Infrastructure

The university campus is very big and situated in the city area. The buildings on the campus are in good condition and are well maintained. Lifts are there on the whole campus and if you are a photogenic person then you will definitely find a good location for your photos.

Academics

The academics of faculty of law, Jamia Millia Islamia speaks for itself. You will find a good quality of education here.  The faculty in Jamia is very good. They have one of the most qualified teachers and they are very supportive. They will help you in your academics as well as in extra things too.  The Faculty of Law organizes Moot Courts within the classrooms, Intra Class Moot Court Competitions and National Moot Court Competitions. In NIRF ranking 2019 The Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia is on no. 8.

Admission Procedure and Fee Structure

Jamia Millia Islamia Conducts Entrance Examination every year and usually notification releases in the month of March. The aim behind the Examination is to check the basic knowledge of the candidate. The level of difficulty is high and can be compared with other national-level law entrance exams. While other law schools charge you in lakhs you will find that the fees of Jamia are very less; it costs only 10 thousand per year to pursue a law degree. 

Courses

The Faculty has introduced a five-year integrated B.A.LL.B (Hons.) Programme from the academic session 2002-2003 and also LLM and Ph.D. programme.

Hostel Facility

In Jamia getting a hostel is a more difficult task than getting admission if you are lucky than you will get hostel otherwise you have to stay outside the campus. The conditions of hostels are up to the mark, the food quality is also good and one thing that will amaze you is that the hostel fee is very less as compared to other hostels in the country.

Campus life

In Jamia you will feel like home. It is a budget-friendly law school that costs around 10 thousand per year as college fees. The campus is in a very big area and has around 10 canteens and all are pocket friendly and serve delicious food. On-campus, you will find students from the whole country and some international students too. Jamia celebrates its foundation day in October as a weeklong ‘Talimi Mela’. The fest in Jamia is one of the famous events among students and each department conducts their fests and you can enjoy them there too. The law faculty fest is also one of the successful events conducted every year. The campus is situated in the city area so that you can easily go out with your friends. If you are a foodie then it is the best place for and you can have tasty food outside the campus too. In Jamia, you will find a culture and students having a different style compared to other colleges in Delhi-NCR.

Placement

If you are in Jamia then you can only grow by yourself. No doubt that Jamia is having a strong alumni base in every field of law; it can be judiciary as well as corporate but you have to do it on your own. Even if you have to find internships on your own but the good thing is that you will get them easily.

Jamia conducts events regularly; it can be a National Moot Court Competition or it can be other academic events. It also conducts fests and some special events such as ethic day festival celebrations and other events during its foundation day.
