The Delhi HC today issued notice in a petition challenging National Law University, Delhi move to provide 50% reservation in their LLB and LLM courses, to candidates who have passed from an institute situated in Delhi.
The petition has been preferred by Pia Singh who intends to pursue LLM from NLU Delhi after graduating from a University in Rajasthan.
The petition also challenges the introduction of 22% OBC & 10% EWS reservation in the LLM course offered at the University.
The Petitioner has asserted that NLUD Delhi is effectively providing reservation of upto 80% of its seats, which was against the principle of equality under part-III of the Constitution.
